Press release from Fuel Communications

Nokia, in partnership with online video sharing site Vimeo®, has kicked off a global competition to find the best short film shot on the Nokia N8.

Up-and-coming filmmakers can submit their idea for a short film at www.vimeo.com/nokia for the chance to win $10,000 USD ($9,755 AUS) and a screening at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The judging panel, including Oscar winner and CEO of digital advertising agency R/GA Bob Greenberg, film aficionado and director of ‘Rare Exports Inc’ Jalmari Helander, Nokia’s vice president for marketing creation Steven Overman and Vimeo’s creative director Jeremy Boxer, will choose the best eight submissions to go through to the semi-finals.

The semi-finalists will each receive a production budget of $5,000 USD ($4,880 AUS) and two Nokia N8 smartphones to make their master piece.

The winning film, as chosen by the judges, will receive $10,000 USD ($9,755 AUS) and a screening at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in June 2011.
