OpenAir Cinema to Premiere Biggest Summer Releases

Press Release from NIXCO

Clint Eastwood, Danny Boyle, Sofia Coppola, Johnny Depp and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest

The 2011 program will be launched in full on Friday 10 December but we couldn't wait to tell you about some of the exciting films from multi award winning directors that will be screening this year:

Preview – HEREAFTER, from Academy Award winner director Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby), an intense and intriguing drama centred on three people who are haunted by mortality in different ways, starring Matt Damon and Cécile De France.

Preview – 127 HOURS, Academy Award winner director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) delivers the incredible true story of adventurer Aron Ralston. Featuring an Oscar® worthy performance from James Franco, and based on an amazing true story, 127 Hours is a tale of self-preservation against the odds, and a man's overwhelming will to grab life.

SOMEWHERE, Academy Award winner Director Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation) tells the beguiling story of a hard living LA actor (Stephen Dorff) who re-examines his life when his 11 year old daughter (Elle Fanning) comes to stay.

Preview – BLACK SWAN, Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler), a breath taking thriller starring Natalie Portman that turns sharply on the real and imagined rivalry between a veteran ballet dancer and her understudy.

THE TOURIST, BAFTA Award winner Director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck (The Lives of Others), brings together Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in a fast paced and hugely entertaining thriller.

Preview – THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST, Director Daniel Alfredson (The Girl Who Played with Fire), ends our wait, giving us the third and final part of the hugely popular Millenium Trilogy starring Noomi Rapace and Michael Nyqvist.
