Oscar winners in special effects

At last, the Oscars have been announced, so we can sit back now and appreciate the winners in make-up, visual effects, art direction, costume design and animation.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button did well, as expected, winning the following nominations:

    * Best Achievement in Make-up for the work done by Greg Cannom
    * Best Achievement in Visual Effects for the work done by Eric Barba, Steve Preeg, Burt Dalton and Craig Barron
    * Best Achievement in Art Direction for the work done by Donald Graham Burt, Victor J. Zolfo

The Duchess won the Oscar for the best Achievement in Costume Design.
WALL-E won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film of the year.

The runners up for Best Achievement in Make-up were:

    * The Dark Knight – for the work done by John Caglione Jr. and Conor O’Sullivan
    * Hellboy II: The Golden Army – for the work done by Mike Elizalde and Thomas Floutz

The runners up for Best Achievement in Visual Effects were:

    * The Dark Knight – for the work done by Nick Davis, Chris Corbould, Timothy Webber and Paul J. Franklin
    * Iron Man – for the work done by John Nelson, Ben Snow, Daniel Sudick and Shane Mahan

The runners up for Best Achievement in Art Direction were:

    * Changeling – for the work done by James J. Murakami and Gary Fettis
    * The Dark Knight – for the work done by Nathan Crowley and Peter Lando
    * The Duchess – for the work done by Michael Carlin and Rebecca Alleway
    * Revolutionary Road – for the work done by Kristi Zea and Debra Schutt

The runners up for Best Achievement in Costume Design were:

    * Australia – for the work done by Catherine Martin
    * The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – for the work done by Jacqueline West
    * Milk – for the work done by Danny Glicker
    * Revolutionary Road – for the work done by Albert Wolsky

The runners up for Best Animated Feature Film of the year were:

    * Bolt – for the work done by Chris Williams and Byron Howard
