Following the screening, fans will also be treated to an interactive Q&A session with the filmmakers Enzo Tedeschi (Producer/Writer), Julian Harvey (Producer/Writer), Carlo Ledesma (Director) and special guest, Andrew Denton of Zapruder’s other films.

Popcorn Taxi creative director, Chris Murray, said “This is a unique opportunity to see us literally push-the-button and release The Tunnel online. As we do so, a new breed of filmmaking will be introduced to the world.”

The Tunnel has attracted worldwide attention for its unconventional crowd-funding and release model. Producers Enzo Tedeschi and Julian Harvey raised the film’s budget of $135,000 by selling each frame for $1 and opting to release the film via controversial internet piracy networks.

Distracted Media’s Enzo Tedeschi said “This is an exciting night for us as we embrace an increasingly dominant online audience. We’re also thrilled to have Andrew Denton as part of our Q&A panel. Zapruder’s other films has believed in this project since inception and to premiere the film with such great supporters and partners is a real honour.”

Following a news film crew’s journey into the city’s mysterious tunnels hunting for a story, The Tunnel sees the story turn on this investigative team made up of news producer, Peter Ferguson (Andy Rodoreda), TV journalist, Natasha Warner (Bel Delia) TV crew cameraman, Steve Miller (Steve Davis) and sound recordist, Jim ‘Tangles’ Williams (Luke Arnold). The film also stars Goran Kleut, Ben Maclaine and James Caitlin.

The Tunnel has received a DVD release via Transmission Films and will be available globally from May 19 2011.
