Primal scores at AFM

Press release from Talisman Films

Producers of Aussie horror film , “Primal”, sign international sales agreement with UK based AV Pictures and secure six figure sales at AFM.

After taking a trailer for “Primal” to Cannes in May, producer’s Rob Gibson, Nigel Christensen, John Cordukes and director/writer Josh Reed have settled on the UK firm AV Pictures to represent their film internationally.

“AV Pictures have successfully repped Aussie films before and they love genre so they’re a perfect fit for ‘Primal’,” said director, Josh Reed.

The American Film Market in Santa Monica last week was the venue for the first offering of “Primal” and the response was immediate.

“Even though we only took a promo reel to AFM, straight away Vic from AV had offers on the table, which is exactly what you want when you take your first feature to the global marketplace,” said producer Rob Gibson.

Although the exact figure is confidential, the Primal promo reel saw six figure sales across some of the minor territories. The vast majority of territories, including the key European and North American markets, are still to be offered.

International interest in the film is high and AV Pictures will open the floor to bidding when the film screens in 35mm at the Berlin Film Market next February.

“People all over the world love getting the s*!t scared out of them, we’re happy to help!” says Nigel Christensen, producer and co-writer.
