Ruby Rose joins Logie award-winning actress Claire van der Boom (THE PACFIC, THE SQUARE, RUSH) and Henry Nixon (THE PACIFIC, SLEEPING BEAUTY) in the six-part webseries LOW LIFE, created by Luke Eve and playwright Adam Grossetti who also wrote the series.

“One of the things I was hoping to achieve with this project was a more open discussion about mental illness and depression. The addition of Ruby with her openness and bravery will further help that dialogue by allowing people to see that it is ok to have these conditions and talk openly about them. The Kickstater campaign alone has already done that with dozens of close friends and family opening up about their own personal experiences. I've found it to be a very moving and positive experience already. I think the completed web series will have even more of an impact” said director/producer Luke Eve.
Ruby Rose landed her first gig in the public eye in 2007 as a VJ for MTV Australia; a role which graced her with an ASTRA award for ‘favourite female’ in less than twelve months. She has appeared as a panelist on Network Ten’s 7PM PROJECT and guest judge and co-host of the AUSTRALIA’S NEXT TOP MODEL FINALE as well as starred in her own shows ULTIMATE SCHOOL MUSICAL and MTV STYLE. Rose has her own range for fashion label Milk & Honey and released a collaboration collection with street footwear brand Gallaz. She is the Australian ambassador for JVC and luxury Danish label Georg Jensen and most recently has been chosen as the face of Maybelline New York. Rose will appear in the feature film AROUND THE BLOCK starring alongside Christina Ricci.
LOW LIFE is a comedic and heartfelt look at depression. Jef appears to have it all. He’s good looking, charming, and funny. He also has a good job and a beautiful girlfriend. But he just doesn’t feel right. And he’s not sure what to do about it.
On average, 1 in 8 men will have depression and 1 in 5 men will experience anxiety at some stage of their lives. While woman are more likely to experience depression and anxiety, men are less likely to talk about it.
