SCREAM TEST: Casting Begins on Australia’s next Horror Film

PRESS RELEASE

Australia’s next horror film continues to creep out from the shadows with producers Craig Henry and Renata Burt preparing to break new ground as they move into the casting phase for their feature film The Lighthouse.

Craig penned The Lighthouse together with fellow screenwriter and classic monster movie fan Ed Martinez. The story follows a confused young psychic and her friends who get lost during a boat trip and find refuge in a decaying lighthouse. The lighthouse’s sinister secrets become apparent soon after the group of six adolescents embark on an adventure as they soul-search together in the aftermath of the death of a close friend and the twisted tail of treachery begins to unravel.

With the early stages of pre-production now complete and interest in mainstream and social media growing, the production team has put out the call to casting agencies worldwide for young actors to express interest in auditioning over the coming weeks.

With some big names already in the mix, the producers are looking forward to working with both established and up-and-coming local and international talent.

The film is also being championed by co-producer Burt who has followed her passion for filmmaking from New Zealand and is now making a name for herself in the Australian industry. Burt has already collaborated successfully with Henry on the cutting edge ‘Mobile Screen Fest 2010, 2011’ Australia's first ever mobile phone film festival.

With the producers of the film setting out to take an innovative and original look into the monster movies of old, the search is on for the group of six young friends who will become bound by much more than just their friendship and the question beckons, ‘who will step into the light and uncover the deadly secrets of The Light House?
