Screen Australia to help Cannes-bound producers

Screen Australia will offer grants to producers going to the Cannes Film Market running May 13-22 2015.

Financial assistance of up to $6,000 for travel costs will be available for producers proposing to secure finance on Australian projects at advanced stages of development.

The Cannes Film Market (Marché du Film) is the largest international annual film market, attracting close to 12,000 participants from more than 115 countries, with over 1,300 feature market screenings in 2014. It takes place alongside the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

Screen Australia will again have an office in Cannes and further information for Australian attendees will be released soon.

Companies may receive only one grant through this program strand in a 12-month period. Current recipients of funding through Screen Australia’s pre-2014 Enterprise programs (Enterprise and Feature Enterprise) are not eligible.

Funding decisions will be made against the following criteria:
• the suitability/viability of the applicant’s slate or project for the market
• the strategy for the market including planned activities and meetings
• the strength of the applicant’s CV, including relevant and recent credits and industry experience and their experience pertinent to the market.
