[press release from ScreenWest]
Key recommendations put forward in the Funding Program Review Interim Report have been endorsed at the February ScreenWest Board meeting. The recommendations went to the Board following extensive industry consultation and feedback.
The funding development program review is covering three areas of ScreenWest’s funding programs:
1. Project Development
2. Business Development and Employment Support
3. Practitioner Development
To ensure that the review process and resulting guidelines are in line with the needs of the Western Australian screen industry, ScreenWest is undergoing an extensive feedback process.
In January ScreenWest held a series of meetings and detailed discussions with senior representatives of the WA screen industry to discuss the key recommendations. A Funding Review Roadshow presentation was also held with general industry agreement of the high level recommendations proposed in the review.
Many individuals and industry bodies provided detailed and constructive feedback on the key recommendations. This feedback will also be given significant consideration during the next phase of the review, which involves drafting the operating guidelines for the roll out of the new funding programs. The guidelines will also be drafted in consultation with key stakeholders including panel members and representatives of industry groups.
The intention is that the guideline changes are expected to be rolled out in time for the 2009 -10 financial year.
