Season 6 of Community to debut on Stan

Stan today announced that the highly anticipated sixth season of the cult comedy Community will premiere in Australia first on its subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service.

The addition of the sixth season will make Stan the only SVOD service where you can see of every episode of Community in Australia.

The first two new episodes will be available from Wednesday, March 18, with subsequent episodes released each Wednesday, fast-tracked from the US.

Community is a smart, exuberant comedy that is consistently ranked as one of the most inventive and original shows on television. Seasons 1-5 are currently available on Stan and this critically acclaimed program has quickly become one of Stan’s most streamed shows.

This ensemble comedy is centred on a tight-knit group of friends who met at what is possibly the world’s worst educational institution – Greendale Community College. At the centre of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, The Soup), a fast-talking lawyer who was disbarred until he could earn a legitimate degree. He chose Greendale, thinking he could breeze through the mediocre school without a hitch. However, he soon found himself the reluctant leader of a disparate group of misfits, all stuck at Greendale for different reasons.

The study group includes Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs) who dropped out of high school to “change the world” and found herself in her thirties with no marketable skills; Abed Nadir (Danny Pudi), a socially awkward but well-meaning pop culture savant; Annie Edison (Alison Brie), a highly strung perfectionist; and Ben Chang (Ken Jeong), a former Spanish teacher who is either insane or an evil genius, or both. At Greendale’s helm is Dean Pelton (Jim Rash), an administrator whose ineptitude is matched only by his love of the school and devotion to his students.

All episodes of Community will be available to stream in up to full HD, on multiple devices including TVs, smartphones, tablets and computers.
