Short film fest nods to Noddy

Screenwriter Ann Murison and director Ben Plazzer took out the trifecta at last weekend’s Peninsula Short Film Festival, winning best script, best direction and best film for short film Noddy.

Matthewswood Productions' Noddy follows a professional ‘nodder’ – those people who stand behind politicians to subliminally reinforce the message of the day – and his newfound desire to move beyond the background.

Starring Justin Hosking and CJ Fortuna the film also features cameo appearances by Tony Abbott and Julia Gillard – through the wonder of technology (and licensed footage).

Screenwriter Steve Mitchell and Plazzer's feature length, LA Comedy Festival award winning (best ensemble) debut The Heckler makes its Australian premiere as part of Adelaide’s Fringe Festival and Melbourne’s International Comedy Festival.

Matthewswood Productions is developing a feature spin-off of short flm Emo (the musical). Neil Triffett has finished a re-write of the feature screenplay, having collaborated with script editor Sam Jennings, through the support of Screen Australia.
