Star lineup to announce IF Awards nominees

The Who’s Who of the Australian film industry will be out in force on Monday 12th October to find out who will be in line for this year’s Inside Film Awards. Internationally acclaimed actor David Wenham, Director Jeremy Sims and Packed to the Rafters star Jessica McNamee will be announcing the finalists in 17 categories. These categories include 10 People’s Choice Categories as well as Craft Categories, Independent Spirit and Rising Talent. There will be three finalists announced for each award.
 
The other 3 awards presented at the Inside Film Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 18th November will be Box Office, Living Legend and Festival of the Year.

– David Wenham is an IF Awards veteran having received the IF Award for Best Actor in 2003 for his performance in Getting Square. He has combined roles in home grown productions like Australia and The Proposition with International blockbusters like Public Enemies, 300 and The Lord of The Rings. His upcoming projects include the German production Pope Joan and  joining an all star cast voicing one of the characters in next year’s animated feature the Garden’s of Ga’Hoole.

– Jeremy Sims career has spanned both TV and Film including performances in The Secret Life of Us and Corridors of Power and this year’s In Her Skin. Jeremy has also had success behind the screens as Director and Producer of 2006 film Last Train to Freo and the upcoming Beneath Hill 60.

– Best known for her stand out performance as Sammy Rafter in TV hit Packed to the Rafters, Jessica McNamee made the move into film with recent horror flick The Loved Ones. Jessica also showed off her dancing moves in this year’s Dancing with the Stars.

Among the films eligible for nomination are Baz Luhrmann’s international blockbuster Australia, the Cannes Film Festival winning tale of young love in an aboriginal community Samson and Delilah, Oscar winning creator of Harvie Krumpet’s new animated sensation Mary & Max, the critically acclaimed true story of Australian journalists killed in the East Timor village of Balibo as well as Two Fist One Heart, Beautiful Kate, Charlie & Boots, $9.99, Cedar Boys, Blessed, Disgrace, Last Ride, My Year Without Sex and Prime Mover.

Eligible for nominations in the Best Actor or Best Actress category include Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman for Australia, Anthony LaPaglia and Bea Viegas for Balibo, Tony Martin and Natalie Imbruglia for Closed for Winter, Michael Dorman and Emily Barclay for Prime Mover, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Toni Colette for $9.99, John Malkovich and Jessica Haines for Disgrace, Joel Edgerton and Hanna M. Lawrence for Acolytes and Ewan Leslie and Gracie Otto for Three Blind Mice.
