Strongman Pictures announces casting is open for the role of post apocalyptic chic heroine Ash in the futureworld adventure movie Z3D52.
Z3D52 was inspired by Strongman Pictures' earlier work Z3D5, an unfinished short film that attained a surprising amount of attention at film festivals worldwide and online. Taking inspiration from the language-free, vaguely surreal world created in this experiment the team at Strongman decided to re-imagine it on a larger scale in Z3D52.
"A big part of this project is getting more involved in the online movie world" says Armstrong (director, Strongman Pictures), "there's been a shift in the interaction between the audience and the film producer. In fact the distinction is starting to blur. It's more than pay per view and user selected content, it's approaching user defined, which is a great thing really".
"Online content creators are becoming far more sophisticated with what they produce, and audiences becoming larger and more loyal for independent genre content. They're also getting more involved in influencing and dictating content".
Strongman Pictures plan to utilize an online community to cast and create Z3D52 for online release.
"Its not an approach there are many good examples to follow. There isn't enough history for a rule book to exist, and of course we're talking online so what's trending today isn't necessarily trending tomorrow. To a large extent this is an experiment for us, and we'll be making a lot of it up as we go along. It adds a whole new dimension to film producing and that's where we'd like to be".
z3D52 has a FaceBook page, currently the only online presence for the film. "We're just going to hang out on FaceBook and YouTube with it and see what happens. The bit where we make any money from it is the bit nobody fully understands as yet – but it's also the exciting part. The potential for independent producers is there now, in a very real way, so that's where we're currently aiming".
