Surfing 50 States is a doco which follows the journey of Jonathan Durrant (Jonno) and Stefan Hunt through every state of America as they attempt to surf everywhere, and anywhere that they can. Staying with local families, travelling in a ricketty old ice cream truck, and surfing big waves in Alaska, Hawaii and California, beet fields in Idaho, wave pools in Nebraska, the Great Lakes in Michigan, and in swamps in New Orleans, the film offers a funny and often insightful view of a modern day America, where fun is what you make it on the day.
The premiere screening of Surfing 50 States will take place Wednesday, 15th October at 6.30pm, at the Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace at 380 Military Road, Cremorne.
There will be bands, giveaways, a Q & A with the two stars, VIP guests, a preview screening of Hurely’s new film Stranger Than Fiction.
