Sydney Unplugged trailer

Sydney Unplugged will see filmmakers such as Alex Proyas (Knowing), Kieran Darcy-Smith (Wish You Were Here) and Rachel Ward (Beautiful Kate) come together. The feature film, produced by John Polson and Gary Hamilton (A Few Best Men), will be shot in the second half of 2012.

The flick will comprise of 12 stories, with each story helmed by a different director. It will showcase Australia’s premiere city through a myriad of themes and storylines.

Other filmmakers on board include Ivan Sen (Toomelah), David Michôd (Animal Kingdom), John Curran (The Painted Veil), Liev Schreiber (Everything is Illuminated), Ray Lawrence (Lantana) and Russell Crowe (Texas). They will be joined by actors Anthony LaPaglia and Toni Collette in their directorial debuts.

The idea for the film came together at the Cannes Film Festival in May, last year. It will be distributed by Icon in 2013 and sold internationally by Arclight Films.
