WA Premier Australian Film Festival CinefestOZ is certain to leverage its reputation as a growing boutique film spectacle, with the addition of national film industry ambassador, Tania Chambers to the CinefestOZ Board.

Chambers is former Chief Executive of Screen NSW and ScreenWest, Jury Member of Banff International Television Festival and of the Board of Trustees of the Asian Television Awards.

She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has been on the Boards of the Film and Television Institute (WA) (Chair), Perth Theatre Company (Chair), Screenrights and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and is an Ambassador for Australia’s Special Broadcasting Service and a member of the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts and the International Academy of Arts and Sciences.

“After only 4 years CinefestOZ has already become WA's Premier Film Festival with the largest number of Australian Feature Films ever presented last year. It’s exciting to be part of a festival through which audiences celebrate captivating films and our talented screen industry,” said Chambers.

CinéfestOZ brings a diverse program of Australian and French films, documentaries, schools sessions and red carpet premiere events to the State staged in the Margaret River Region of Western Australia (22-26 August).

“We plan to continue to grow into a major Australian Film Festival on the Sundance Film Festival model, bringing audiences from far and wide to join with the film industry to celebrate film in West Australia’s top tourism location. Events take place across the region, showcasing some really gorgeous areas and bringing people fascinated by the film industry together to explore and be entertained,” said Chambers.
