The Theory of Everything to open St.George OpenAir Cinema

PRESS RELEASE

The 2015 season of St.George OpenAir Cinema will launch in style on Wednesday 7 January with the Australian premiere of THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING. Tickets will be the hottest in town, as this much anticipated film follows remarkable story of one of the world's greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking and the life he shared with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde.

Featuring outstanding performances from Eddie Redmayne (Les Misérables, My Week With Marilyn) and Felicity Jones (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), this red hot Oscar® contender is based on the memoir 'Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen,' by Jane Hawking and is directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh (Man on Wire).

Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed.

A limited number of tickets will be available on the door for the general public to purchase every evening across the entire season.

The festivities continue to grow the following week when St.George Open AirCinema will hold a VIP preview screening of WILD on 12th Jan – further details to follow regarding this event. Reese Witherspoon takes to the screen with an amazing performance, a powerful story of self-healing, based on the best-selling memoir by Cheryl Strayed in a screenplay by Nick Hornby.
