Top Gear still on top

Top Gear remains SBS’s most popular current show, again revving at close to a million viewers last week, according to figures from OzTAM.

In Week 5 of 2009 (w/c January 25) Top Gear recorded 922,000 viewers. Long Way Down attracted 464,000 viewers and is averaging 400,000 for the series,performing as well as its predecessor Long Way Round.

Recording an audience of 448,000, last week’s episode of Food Safari was 17 per cent ahead of the current series average (airing from December 2008).

New Australian drama Carla Cametti PD continues to boost SBS’s audience in timeslot, last week averaging 267,000 viewers, which is 30 per cent above the 2008 average for the Thursday 8.30pm – 9.30pm timeslot.
