The board of Screen Queensland has renewed CEO Tracey Vieira’s contract for another three years.

Announcing the reappointment, SQ chair Linda Apelt said Vieira had made a significant contribution to the Queensland screen industry.

“Tracey has achieved great success in her first three-year term as CEO and achieved positive outcomes across the screen sector, which is testament to her leadership, knowledge base, relationships and business acumen,” said Apelt.

“She has championed change in a fast-moving, global environment, and has focused on new and digital platforms and increased collaboration, community and communication within the sector."

Vieira said: “When I was appointed to the Screen Queensland CEO position in 2014, I pledged to foster a thriving screen industry not only for Queensland, but all of Australia. I am proud of what we have achieved to date and I look forward to a bright future for Queensland’s screen community."

“Over the last few years and in sync with the global movement for improving women’s status in our industry, I am championing Queensland’s movement for greater gender equality in screen, both in front [of] and behind the camera. I also remain focused on improving diversity and greater inclusiveness in our industry.”
