Vale Nick McMahon

IF is saddened to hear of the death yesterday of Nick McMahon. Our sincere condolences to his son Ben, immediate family and friends.

Nick McMahon was one of Australia's most respected television production executives. He spent 13 years with Crawfords as the Director of Sales and Marketing. In 1987 he formed McMahon and Lake Pty Ltd with Michael Lake, and was responsible for the Australian production of Paramount's Mission Impossible series, which received international success. From 1991-1998 he was Managing Director of Village Roadshow Pictures before rejoining Crawfords as CEO in 1999. He was Executive Producer of the internationally successful children’s series, The Saddle Club, and was responsible for the show’s merchandise and licensing strategy.

He also worked as an international consultant for the US television network HBO and was the Pacific Rim Representative of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE), and Vice President of the Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) 2002-2007.
