Network 10 parent ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand has promoted Liz Baldwin to senior vice president, head of streaming.

Baldwin was previously Network 10’s general manager, digital, a role she has held since February 2016, after joining the broadcaster the previous year as a digital executive producer.

In the newly created position, she will continue to oversee the digital business for 10 Play, but also manage the digital strategy for the new streaming service Paramount+, as well as lead ViacomCBS’ digital and streaming team.

Baldwin, who assisted in the rollout of 10 Play as unified app last year, said there were “many exciting opportunities” that lay ahead.

“I am thrilled to be adding Paramount+ to my responsibilities,” she said.

“I am elated to be leading an enthusiastic and committed team who are working fervently and passionately towards the launch of Paramount+.”

ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand chief operating and commercial officer and executive vice president, Jarrod Villani, whom Baldwin will be reporting to in the role, described her as “one of the best and brightest digital media executives in Australia”.

“Our digital media business has seen significant growth under Liz’s direction and leadership.

“She is the ideal person to lead the digital strategy for ViacomCBS in Australia and New Zealand as we continue to enhance our streaming offerings on 10 Play and soon to be launched SVOD service Paramount+.”

Beverley McGarvey, ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand chief content officer and executive vice president, also said Baldwin was well suited to the new role.

“Liz has made an important and valuable contribution to our digital strategy over the last few years and I am delighted she has agreed to lead the streaming strategy for Paramount+,” she said.

Paramount+ will debut in Australia on August 11.
