Winners of the Robin Anderson Sydney Film School scholarship announced

Press release from Sydney Film School

For the last 6 years Sydney Film School has partnered with the Robin Anderson Film Awards, the national competition for secondary school filmmakers, and has been offering the hottest prize of the awards – an annual one-year, full time scholarship to study film in a practical and educational filmmaking environment!

To date, the scholarships have been given to one participant per year. Year 2010 sees the exception! For the first time since its inception two scholarships have been offered to two young filmmakers.

"Even then it was a difficult decision to make" says Ben Ferris the Sydney Film School director and tutor. “The quality of all the Robin Anderson finalist filmmakers continues to be of a very high standard, not only in their ability to produce exceptional films on shoestring budgets, but also in their maturity as individuals. I continue to be impressed by the awards and am proud of our involvement in supporting these talents over the years.”

Valued at over $15,000, the Robin Anderson Sydney Film School Scholarship covers all tuition fees, materials and equipment. An outstanding opportunity for a person passionate about making films to further their studies.

The 2011 Scholarships have been offered to Emily Christianson from Lithgow High School and Jordan Howes from Mosman High School.
