Working Dog to launch SBS World Cup show

Press release from Access PR

Every night for the duration of South Africa 2010, comedians Santo Cilauro, Sam Pang and Ed Kavalee will gather in the World Cup Situation Room (‘The Blattersphere’) for a left-field review of all the overnight action.

Produced by Working Dog and broadcast live in front of an audience at the ACMI Studios at Melbourne’s Federation Square, each half hour program will consist of well-informed discussion, ill-informed analysis and heated debate that might just end in fisticuffs or someone letting off a flare.

As well as pre-recorded clips, guest interviews, surprise cameos, there will also be regular reports from fellow football fanatic Tony Wilson in South Africa.

SBS’s Manager of Production and Development, Denise Eriksen, said: “SBS is thrilled to be teaming up with Working Dog for Cup Fever!. SBS is the home of football and Cup Fever! will perfectly complement our extensive and exclusive coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup across SBS ONE and SBS TWO.”

Presenter/ Producer, Santo Cilauro, said: “I’m so excited to be working on SBS – finally my parents are likely to see one of my shows”.
