2013 INSITE Award Entries Due July 26

The Australian Writers' Guild and the Adelaide Film Festival call for entries to the 2013 INSITE Award, to be presented at this year’s festival in October.

The INSITE Award will celebrate and acknowledge the outstanding work being written by AWG members and will provide an exciting development opportunity.

The call is closing soon for AWG members to submit a synopsis and writing sample of an unproduced screenplay, with the winner announced during this year's Adelaide Film Festival, which runs from 10-20 October.

The ultimate winner will be flown to Adelaide to meet with specially selected industry directors and producers, with a view to moving the project forward and onto the screen.

2011 INSITE winner Barbara Connell (who won with her screenplay The Unlikeliest Hero) says, "Winning the INSITE Competition gave a West Australian screenplay exposure on a national scale and proved an invaluable resource to me as a writer… Now in its fourth draft, the project has attached award-winning New Zealand director James Cunningham and New Zealand co-producer Sue Thompson, who will be working with Australian producer Natalie Bell towards an official co-production and the completion of the film for a 2015 release to coincide with the 100-year commemorations of ANZAC Day."

Entries close at 5pm on Friday 26 July, with further information included on the entry form available here.
