AFTRS launches the Network Lounge

Last week the alumni association of the Australian Film Television and Radio School- The Network- launched its new regular networking night- The Network Lounge.

Industry guests joined staff and students from AFTRS and esteemed alumni at the Chauvel Sydney on Wednesday to watch some of the latest offerings from graduates and enjoy champagne and canapés.

The screening program included Checkpoint (Winner 2007 CRC Dendy Award Sydney Film Festival and Grand Jury Prize at Montreal Film Festival 2007), Swing (Winner Best Short Film at both Adelaide and St Kilda Film Festivals 2007), and Jane Campion’s UN commissioned short The Water Diary. Many AFTRS graduates contributed to these amazing films and the Network Committee were proud to show them to the wider community.

The Network Lounge will begin as a regular event every two months, with most events being held at the Chauvel. It aims to be a meeting of minds for Australia’s top screen practitioners.
