Ang Lee to visit Sydney next month

Press release from Universal Pictures

Oscar winning director Ang Lee will head to Sydney at the end of July to celebrate the release of his highly-anticipated new film TAKING WOODSTOCK.

A back-story to the legendary music festival, TAKING WOODSTOCK is based on the memoir of Elliott Tiber, a young man working at his parent’s motel who agrees to host Woodstock in their backyard and inadvertently sets into motion the generation-defining concert.

The film features a standout ensemble cast including Demetri Martin as Elliott Tiber, Liev Schreiber, Emile Hirsch, Imelda Staunton and Eugene Levy, with the screenplay developed by Lee’s longtime filmmaking partner James Schamus.

As the acclaimed director of BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON and LUST CAUTION, Lee makes a return to the comedy-drama genre with TAKING WOODSTOCK which recently premiered at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival and played in competition for the prestigious Palme d’Or.
