Ausfilm Week LA starts on Sunday

Ausfilm and representatives of the Australian film industry are in Los Angeles for the 6th annual Ausfilm Week Los Angeles (October 26-31).

This targeted event strengthens Australia's relationships with the US production community and builds upon Australia's reputation as a leading film, television, post and visual effects destination for major international production.

20th Century Fox's Fred Baron will be honored as the Ausfilm honoree at the 3rd annual Australians in Film (AiF) awards show and benefit dinner in Santa Monica.

Zareh Nalbandian, Animal Logic CEO and Ausfilm Deputy Chair, will receive the Fox Studios Australia International Honoree award.

In an exclusive "in conversation" panel, producers Clayton Townsend (Unbroken) and Bill Mechanic (The Moon and The Sun) will speak about their recent experiences filming in Australia at the week's cornerstone event, the Australia Summit.

Other highlights for the week include a post, digital and visual effects showcase, a screening of The Babadook and 1-2-1 business meetings with prolific Australian producers.

The Australian delegation includes 23 Ausfilm member companies including the federal and state screen agencies, the major studios, leading post, digital and visual effects facilities and production service providers.
