Press release from Slaters Intellectual Property Lawyers

Media and entertainment law firm Slaters Intellectual Property Lawyers has been judged the 2011 Media Law Firm of the year at the Corporate International Law awards in London. The awards are presented each year following an extensive international judging process in the corporate and legal services arena.

Principal Anny Slater said that is was “gratifying to be recognised internationally” and “that the award hopefully reflects that clients and colleagues like what we do and how we do it”. Ms Slater also said it was a “great start to the year” considering that the firm is celebrating its 10th year in 2011.

Slater, who steered the law firm to its recent win and other accolades such as 2008 Best Enterprise at the Australian Business Awards, was recently named NSW Woman Lawyer of the Year and placed on the NSW Government Honour roll for services to law, the arts and the community.

The Woman Lawyer of the Year award was judged by representatives of the Attorney General’s Department, the Corporate Lawyers Association, the NSW Law Society and the NSW Bar Association.

The firm specialises in intellectual property, IT, ecommerce, media and entertainment law and runs a free legal service the first Saturday of each month. Ms Slater said “anyone who needs to download or discuss a legal problem is welcome to attend”.
