Bondi loves its shorts

[press release from Bondi Shorts Fest]

Due to overwhelming demand for tickets, the first session of the 8th Annual Bondi Short Film Festival has completely sold out with the second session well on it’s way to selling out.

Time is running out for filmmakers to get their entries in to the 8th Annual Bondi Short Film Festival. Entries will be closing on the 7th of November 2008 at 5:00pm (next week). The festival has already received a large number of films however there is only room for 14 finalists.

With it’s commitment to independent Australian film, the festival has maintained that all film entry to the festival is free. The festival separates itself from other short Film Festivals in Australia by not restricting film makers to a particular theme and only accepting Australian short films.

This year we have a brand new sponsorship partner with SHOWTIME Australia. SHOWTIME will provide an incredible first prize to the winner of BEST FILM. The prize includes return flights to the U.S.A to experience a Short Film Festival of choice.

"SHOWTIME Australia is committed to the creation of outstanding film and television entertainment, and through the sponsorship of the Bondi Short Film Festival we are encouraging emerging filmmakers to showcase their talents" said Peter Rose, CEO of SHOWTIME Australia.

Spectrum Films, who have been supporting the Festival since 2000, will provide $3000 in free editing time to best film. Core 3 Entertainment based at Fox Studios will provide best film with a $1000 cash prize along with a first look development deal and for the best actor, a role on one of their upcoming 2009 productions.
