Film Victoria and MIFF team up to sponsor ten Victorian screenwriters

09 May, 2016 by Staff Writer

Film Victoria is seeking expressions of interest from Victorian writers to attend their 37ºSouth: PostScript & Direct event.

37ºSouth is a joint initiative between Film Victoria and the Melbourne International Film Festival, sponsoring up to 10 early to mid-career Victorian writers to pitch their feature film projects to producers from Australia and New Zealand.

PostScript & Direct is aimed at writers with polished narrative feature film scripts rather than those in the early stages of development.

Film Victoria's critera for assessment will include: the execution and quality of writing; the projects’ potential in the marketplace; the projects’ level of development and readiness to be presented at a market; the projects’ ability to engage an audience.

Selected participants will be advised of the outcome within four weeks of the deadline and will be required to sign a participant agreement.

This year 37ºSouth: PostScript & Direct will occur on Sunday 31 July, 2016 at the Forum Theatre, Melbourne.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 10am Friday 13 May, 2016.
