Flickerfest films will be screened on Virgin Australia flights under a continued partnership for the festival's 25th anniversary.
Flickerfest kicks off the summer cinema season under the stars at Sydney’s Bondi Beach and will screen the best short films from Australia and abroad.
It is also Australia’s only short film festival that is both Academy Accredited and BAFTA recognised.
In 2015, Flickerfest commenced a partnership with Virgin Australia, taking Australian short films from the big screen to multiple screens across the skies.
Under this year's partnership, the Flickerfest program has extended to four months across Virgin Australia In-flight Entertainment from December 2015 through to March 2016.
The program will be also be available through Virgin Australia lounges across summer, enabling all Velocity Frequent Flyer members to watch the films.
For the 2016 festival, Flickerfest received over 2000 entries with more than 650 of those from Australian filmmakers.

Festival director Bronwyn Kidd said she was thrilled to be again working with Virgin Australia.
"Flickerfest is about celebrating our nation’s best filmmaking talent and this partnership gives these filmmakers another opportunity to share these world-class short films," she said.
"It’s a fantastic way to bring Flickerfest to an even greater audience of film lovers."
The festival will screen from January 8-17, before hitting the road on a 50 venues National Tour across Australia between January and May 2016.
