FLiCKERFEST’S SHORT DOCUMENTARY CATEGORY NOW ACADEMY ACCREDITED

In breaking news, FLiCKERFEST’S Short Documentary category has now been recognised as being officially Academy® Accredited. The always impressive Short Documentary category now joins the already Academy® Accredited Best International Short Film, Best Short Animation and Best Australian Short categories.

Recipients of the festival’s prizes in the above mentioned categories will qualify for consideration in the Documentary Short Subject category of the Annual Academy Awards®.

FLiCKERFEST kicked off on Friday night to a SOLD OUT crowd at iconic the Bondi Pavilion. Celebrating its 23rd year, Australia’s only Academy® Accredited and BAFTA recognised short film competition, Flickerfest, will be screening under the stars at Bondi Beach until 19 January, showcasing the best short films from Australia and around the world.

The festival still has 5 MASSIVE days of screening to go before wrapping up on Sunday evening with the much anticipated awards ceremony where a selection of winning films will be screened followed by the official FLiCKERFEST closing night after-party.

After Flickerfest wraps up its 10 day festival in Bondi on Sunday the 19th of January Flickerfest will then tour to 50 venues all across of Australia between January and May.
