Lune Media teams up with UK producer

London-based producer Betty has signed a first-look deal for Lune Media to represent its formats in Australia and New Zealand.

Lune Media, headed by Leonie Lowe and based in Sydney, will make local versions of  Betty’s hit format and features shows.

Betty's output includes The Undateables, Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, Heston’s Great British Food, The Food Inspectors and The Fabulous Baker Brothers: A Bite of Britain. Among the shows made by Lune Media are television specials for Australia’s leading food editor and best-selling author Donna Hay.

Sophy Walker, head of operations, Betty, said: “Australia is our most successful secondary sales market both in terms of revenue and the number of programmes sold. We’ve always found the Australian market to be lively and engaging with a genuine enthusiasm for our shows. This new partnership with Lune comes at a time of increased demand from broadcasters for local versions of international formats and we look forward to working with Leonie and her team.”
