Monster Pictures releases all new vigilante thriller to cinemas

PRESS RELEASE

Monster Pictures is pleased to announce the acquisition of the action-packed vigilante thriller, JOHN DOE: VIGILANTE to cinemas on May 8th.

Starring Jamie Bamber (TV’s BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) and AACTA winner Lachy Hulme (POWER GAMES, TV’s OFFSPRING, KILLER ELITE), this controversial thriller tells the story of John Doe – a man accused of being a brutal vigilante serial killer.

As we await verdict on his trial, the film uncovers his crimes and dissects the reasoning behind his actions – actions that have divided the community. When a vigilante group called ‘Speak for the Dead’ emerges in support of John Doe’s cause, the debate about justice versus vengeance is elevated to dangerous new heights.

“Monster Pictures is delighted to be involved with John Doe: Vigilante,” said creative director Neil Foley.

“This is a fast and hard-hitting thrill ride and it's the exact sort of Aussie film we like to champion. We believe that it is genre cinema that will reinvigorate Australian cinema and it excites us to be part of this new wave".

Produced by James Vernon (Cut Snake, Predestination, Gabriel), Kristy Vernon (Gabriel) with David Lightfoot (Wolf Creek, Blame) and Keith Switzer, featuring photography by the esteemed David Parker (Malcolm) and with a score by the inimitable David Hischfelder (The Railway Man, Strictly Ballroom), this is a visceral and thought-provoking cinematic experience from some of Australia’s finest screen talents.

JOHN DOE: VIGILANTE will screen at selected cinema locations nationally from May 8.
