Following hot on the heels of the three major appointments made last month Oktobor is gearing up for growth and further success in New Zealand and worldwide.

After an exhaustive worldwide search Oktobor can now confirm that one of London’s top colourists, Kenny Gibb has joined their team in Auckland. As Lead Colourist, Gibb brings with him a wealth of experience, having specialised in TVC colour design for the last 10 years in UK, working at The Moving Picture Company, Rushes, The BBC and The Machine Room.

As an experienced colourist with a wide knowledge of post production gained within the competitive London market over the last 13 years, Gibb specialises in non-linear grading working extensively with Film Master, Resolve and BaseLight colour technology. With client collaborations far too long to list in full, Gibb’s recent assignments include spots for Nike, McDonalds, Land Rover, Mazda, Amnesty International, Range Rover, Heinz, Johnnie Walker, Nokia, Nissan and The BBC working with agencies that include Fallon, Y&R, AMV, JWT and M&C Saatchi.

Speaking of his move to Oktobor Gibb said, “My assignments are undertaken with a focus on realising my client’s vision through open communication and an understanding of their creative needs, I always strive to offer something visually different. I accepted the role at Oktobor as they share my vision and philosophy and have consistently proven themselves to be one of the best visual effects and animation studios in the world.”

Gibb also looks forward to a significant change in colour grading technology soon to be announced by Oktobor.

In addition to Gibb’s appointment, GM Patrick McAteer moves into a newly created advisory role for the company going forward, focusing on working with the senior team to drive client initiatives whilst acting as Oktobor’s brand custodian.

Oktobor has structured their management team to ensure continuity of vision for the business, delivering a strategy of continued growth and expansion. New Account Director Ganesh Raj takes responsibility for customer relationship management, sales and marketing working closely with Head of Production Bruce Everett. Long time stalwarts of the company Lucy Pearce and Steve Cooper continue to look after the HR, PR and financial sides of the business on a day-to-day basis.

Patrick McAteer said, “Oktobor has always tried to do things differently, set new benchmarks and move forward wherever possible. Kenny Gibbs’ appointment and the changes in the management team allow Oktobor to do just that. We are adjusting the way we work so that the best people within Oktobor ensure we deliver the most creative work for our clients. These appointments validate the strategy carefully crafted over the last few years and our commitment to the market, setting Oktobor firmly on its path of future long term investment and growth.”
