Quail TV flying Aussie flag at MIPCOM

Press release from Avviso Public Relations

Television production house, Quail TV, will be flying the flag for Australian innovation and creativity when it participates in the world’s largest television content market, MIPCOM 2010, next month.

Quail TV’s most notable recent success has been the real-life series Find My Family, delivering the Seven Network one of the biggest Australian factual hits of all time and sparking US and UK productions of the Dutch format.

Renowned for ongoing success in producing inspiring factual and documentary content, Quail TV will be using MIPCOM 2010 as a platform to launch its forays into new genres.

With the appointment of distinguished scriptwriter and creative producer, Rick Kalowski, to head Quail TV’s new Scripted and Light Entertainment division, the company is now creating entertainment formats and drama.

Quail TV is also expanding into brand-funded content, with the creation of a new venture with noted Australian media exec, Kate Edwards. Quail Content has already provided solutions for global brands such as Bacardi, Volkswagen, Xbox and Dell.

“Our recent appointment of Kate and Rick to focus on growing the company’s local and global presence is in perfect timing with MIPCOM 2010,”said QTV founder, Greg Quail.

“We’ll be in Cannes to launch our expansion into scripted, light entertainment, feature film and brand-funded content, building on our solid reputation for success in producing, literally, life-changing factual and documentary content.”

Quail TV’s major MIPCOM announcement will be Pat Farmer’s Pole 2 Pole Run event. From March 2011, legendary Australian ultra long-distance runner Pat Farmer will attempt to run from the North Pole to the South Pole, raising funds for the Red Cross. Quail Television will be providing live-via-satellite television coverage of every step of Pat’s extraordinary journey. Australia’s Nine Network has acquired the Australian TV rights and Quail Television is offering exclusive content packages for media partners in all territories.

Quail TV will be one of the Australian suppliers participating in the exciting Spotlight on Australia events taking place at this year’s MIPCOM event.

“Australians are known for their innovation, creativity, work ethic and highly professional approach,” said Quail.

“We’re looking forward to impressing the global audience at MIPCOM with our new concepts, global expertise and swag of opportunities, building on our reputation for creating content which has broad appeal and is, above all, entertaining.”
