Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) Content Group Australia and the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) are together offering up $20,000 of development funding for a SA writer or writing team, as well as an option agreement from UPHE for development and distribution in Australia.

The Matched Market Development initiative is designed to steer one SA project through to script stage with a distribution deal in place, which will then assist with the financing of production.

The initiative is for feature projects – drama or doco – with budgets of $10 million or less. Special consideration will be given to projects that are a drama or comedy for the 50+ audience, live action family films, entertainment or sport docos, or genre films with a “killer animal” component.

The deadline to submit a one page pitch is April 2.
