Sydneysiders came out in force for the 2010 edition of the Sydney Film Festival which achieved a 15% increase in box office income and a 20% increase in overall attendance year-on-year.

“Single ticket sales and flexi-passes continue to grow in popularity, resulting in increased sales, and the uptake of flexi-pass tickets also increased”, said Sydney Film Festival CEO, Leigh Small. “In fact, the shorter two week festival produced higher sales than the three-week festival of 2008.”

The festival wrapped on Monday 14 June with the Australian Premiere of The Kids Are All Right (starring Julianne Moore, Annette Bening, Mark Ruffalo and Mia Wasikowska) which was clearly a choice embraced by the final night audience, screening to a great deal of laughter and rousing applause.
