SPAA secures Lilley as keynote speaker

Press release from SPAA

The Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) has confirmed the first of its international guest speakers, Anthony Lilley, for their annual Conference which will run this year from 16 to 19 November at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney.

Lilley, who will be a 360 Keynote Speaker, is Chief Creative Officer and CEO of the UK based Magic Lantern, an interactive media company skilled at helping companies meet new business needs for the digital age. He is a BAFTA and RTS award-winning producer who specialises in working with broadcasters, production companies, publishers and games developers on the creation and production of cross-platform media. Anthony was previously a regular new media columnist on The Guardian Newspaper and writes and speaks widely on the future of media. In 2008, he was awarded the OBE for services to media.

He will address the Conference on strategies to assist in the transition from an owner of content to a multi-platform business. Delegates will be provided with examples from Magic Lantern’s work across various media – including newspapers, publishing and games with a focus on TV.

This year’s conference venue at Sydney’s Hilton will provide delegates with lots of space for all their networking requirements under the one roof. The program will focus on three key strands to include 360, Feature and TV with a strong emphasis on the development of strategic partnerships. Delegates can expect to hear from leading producers, distributors and platform owners from the converging worlds of movies, TV and advertising as business models continue to be reworked and developed in the ever-changing media landscape.

The SPAA Conference attracts up to 700 industry representatives and key decision makers including producers, directors, distributors, financiers, exhibitors, television network heads, commissioning editors, lawyers and accountants. Of these there is a sizeable international contingent from leading media organizations around the world.
