Network Ten today announced the name of its new morning program – Studio 10– and the winner of the competition to create the name.
The Name The Show competition was won by Darren Sanders, who will collect the prize of a Samsung 60-inch Smart TV and Home Theatre System. Darren will also appear on the first episode of Studio 10.
Studio 10 will debut later this year as part of Network Ten's new morning line-up, which also includes the breakfast program Wake Up.
The Name The Show competition attracted about 4,000 entries via Twitter, www.ten.com.au and an unofficial website.
Studio 10 Executive Producer Rob McKnight said: “We promisedto be different with our new morning television line-up and right from the get-go, we’re delivering on that promise by allowing our audience to name the show.
“The response to Name The Show was overwhelming. There are a lot of clever people out there. “We had so many great suggestions. Studio 10 works on so many levels, although I was almost tempted to go with Lady and The Tramp or Cuckoo’s Nest.”
