Thought Equity Motion partners with BBC division

Press release from Thought Equity Motion

BBC Motion Gallery, the motion clip sales arm of BBC Worldwide, and Thought Equity Motion, Inc., a leader in digitizing, delivering and monetizing video content, have begun their new strategic partnership, announced in October 2009. BBC Motion Gallery has re-launched its site at www.bbcmotiongallery.com powered by Thought Equity Motion’s technology platform and the companies now cross-represent selected international content sales.

The new web presence will be bolstered with millions of professional video clips, enhanced search capabilities, simplified navigation, and instant complimentary preview downloads. Customers will benefit from more robust content delivery across a range of formats, as well as licensing content with simplified rights and pricing.

Select content from Thought Equity Motion media partners is available for licensing on www.bbcmotiongallery.com, including Paramount Pictures, National Geographic, Sony Pictures Entertainment, HBO Archives, Smithsonian Channel and a vast array of royalty free clips.

Commenting on the partnership, Paul Maidment, Business Development Director, BBC Motion Gallery said: “Our strategic relationship with Thought Equity Motion is a great development for BBC Motion Gallery and our clients. By making high-quality motion imagery from the BBC and other collections we represent readily available for licensing via an enhanced web and technology offering, our global clients will have quicker and more effective access to our libraries. BBC Motion Gallery will continue to offer exclusive access to the BBC Archive, a textual database of over a million hours of footage.”

“We’re excited to launch our partnership with BBC Motion Gallery and provide the digital production community with an even wider collection of non-replicable news, sports, and creative content,” said Kevin Schaff, CEO and Founder of Thought Equity Motion. “With even larger libraries of online ‘moment in time’ footage, everyone from agencies and TV/film producers to online publishers will have access to content to support their creative projects and dynamic new Contextual Media offerings.”

Additionally, with this move, BBC Motion Gallery has launched an educational licensing division, led by Jan Ross, Senior Vice President, BBC Motion Gallery, Americas. This division will serve the education market, building on key partnerships created over the last several years and fostering new business in this area.
