TV production house Naked Flame Productions opens in Sydney

Television production and distribution company Naked Flame Productions has launched in Sydney.

Based in Artarmon, Naked Flame aims to produce, acquire and distribute factual programming both locally and internationally.

The company will be chaired by former Macquarie bank deputy managing director John Caldon, with popular food and lifestyle personality Lyndey Milan acting as creative director.

“My years in television have provided intimate knowledge of creative and production processes as well as wide-spread media relationships," said Milan in a statement.

The company's in house production Lyndey and Blair’s Taste of Greece was broadcast earlier this year on SBS and featured Milan and son Blair on a roadtrip around Greece's Peloponnese. Blair Milan died of acute myeloid leukaemia in April, shortly after returning from filming.

The series has been sold to UKTV, XYZ Networks' Lifestyle Food Channel and The Living Channel in New Zealand.

Naked Flame will act as the sales agent for First Footprints, a three-part documentary which received funding from Screen Australia earlier this week. Produced and directed by Martin Butler and Bentley Dean, the series looks at the peopling of the Australian continent.

Representatives from the company will attend MIPCOM in October.

Naked Flame Productions also houses Sydney Studio Kitchen, the first purpose built kitchen studio in Australia – designed specifically for the shooting of culinary content for film and television.
