Yahoo!7 Launches Trial of Audio Sync for FANGO

PRESS RELEASE

Yahoo!7 today announced the commercial trial of audio syncing for its market leading social TV app, FANGO. The trial, with advertising partner Nissan Australia, will test FANGO audio sync capabilities as it detects a Nissan advertisement on television during The X Factor and automatically activates second screen video content within FANGO.

FANGO audio sync represents another way brands can engage an audience through interactive content. FANGO users receive an instant call-to-action synced to the broadcast, offering one-click access to additional content enhancing the viewers’ engagement and opportunity to purchase.

Stu Sayers, CEO for Yahoo!7 said, “The impending trial of FANGO audio sync is a further demonstration of our continued commitment to innovation within FANGO. Since it’s launch, FANGO has partnered with some of the Australia’s biggest brands with Channel 7 ratings winners such as, Coles on My Kitchen Rules, KIA and The Australian Open, and McDonald’s on The X Factor.”

“With the upcoming summer sports season, we’re in an exciting position to connect advertisers to a passionate and highly engaged audience during the 2014 Australian Open tennis tournament and extend the viewer’s exposure to the brands they see on television. With FANGO audio sync, brands will be able to continue telling their story to consumers beyond the television broadcast”, Stu said.

FANGO, which has now been downloaded by over 900,000 Australians and is available for download here: http://au.fango.yahoo.com .

Audio syncing in FANGO will be available for advertisers from early 2014.
